The spine-tingling horror of Stephen King meets an eerie mystery worthy of Sara Shepard's Pretty Little Liars series in Kate Karyus Quinn's haunting debut.

On a cool autumn night, Annaliese Rose Gordon stumbled out of the woods and into a high school party. She was screaming. Drenched in blood. Then she vanished.

A year later, Annaliese is found wandering down a road hundreds of miles away. She doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know how she got there. She only knows one thing: She is not the real Annaliese Rose Gordon.

Now Annaliese is haunted by strange visions and broken memories. Memories of a reckless, desperate wish . . . a bloody razor . . . and the faces of other girls who disappeared. Piece by piece, Annaliese's fractured memories come together to reveal a violent, endless cycle that she will never escape—unless she can unlock the twisted secrets of her past.(from HarperTeen)

This book was both a bit disturbing and incredible. I’m not sure exactly what the whole thing was about or what type of mythology was used in it, maybe something completely made up by its author but it was just something like nothing I’ve ever read before and seriously, this time I really mean it!!!

We’re thrown into the story at the same time the main character comes back home after being missing for almost a year and right along with her the reader finds out what happened to her a year ago and what is happening to her now, all from little visions and dreams that she has. It’s crazy weird but oh so freaking addicting. I was fascinated by the whole thing that I didn’t even care about the short little romance we get in it, I just wanted to know more about what was going on with this girl and what the heck was behind it all. It was just a freaky twisted story that I couldn’t put down.

There were a few gory scenes in the book but they didn’t really bother me, I’ve read zombie books and this wasn’t nearly as bad. Most of the time I wasn’t sure exactly if I was understanding what I was reading, it was a little confusing but I just really felt like I wanted more and more with the turning of each page. It was that good for me! The whole thing surrounding this girls’ disappearance was a mystery that is very hard to predict and you don’t really know much about what is going on until the ending and even then you’re left with so many questions and just thinking about it long after, wondering what could have possibly inspired this story. I was a bit in awe to tell you the truth. Even though Another Little Piece was creepy it was so addictive that it’s become a new favorite book, one so engrossing I wanted to just open it up and read it all over again in hopes to maybe catch something I missed the first time. It really was an amazingly haunting read and please don’t let a little creepiness deter you from giving it a try.

I'm a little nervous about the gory scenes but I am so interested in this one. I must get my hands on it somehow. Glad you enjoyed it and hey, that's super high praise to say it's your new favorite book!

Love the cover of this book. I was a little skeptical because Stephen King scares the crap out of it, but if you say it's addicting, I'll believe you. Will check it out!
